First Dental Appointment in Olympia WA
PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE PATIENT REGISTRATION BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT.
Your initial appointment will include a review of your health, medications, and dental history. We’ll assess your blood pressure and conduct oral cancer and sleep apnea screenings. Intra and extra-oral photos will be taken. Our hygienists will create a periodontal chart, take necessary radiographs, and, in consultation with the doctor, provide a periodontal recommendation—whether a routine cleaning, a “deep cleaning,” or periodontal maintenance.
Cleaning will generally be completed during this visit. We’ll also demonstrate proper home-care techniques and recommend tools. For those with periodontal disease, additional appointments for a “deep cleaning” may be required.
The doctor will review all collected information, make a diagnosis, and propose treatment recommendations. In cases of complex medical history or extensive treatment plans, a second consultation with the doctor may be scheduled on another day. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and personalized dental experience for you.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your initial appointment:
- Your referral slip and any X-rays if applicable
- A list of medications you are presently taking
- Medical and dental insurance cards and photo ID
IMPORTANT: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the initial appointment.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern before surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.) or require medication before dental cleanings (i.e. antibiotics, for pre-med.).
