Meet Our Team – Masked and Unmasked!
During that time I’ve met so many of our patients, people I don’t just consider patients but people I’ve been able to forge real friendships with, many of whom I have seen since I first came to Olympia in 2004.
I’ve had the privilege of seeing many of you marry, have children, and raise a family. Many kids that started with me before they were school age, and now come home from college during the holidays to see us. Others are done with college…working, having moved on, growing in life living elsewhere, but fortunately I get to hear of accomplishments and milestones through parents and family members.
Many of you that know me know I love the outdoors and love sharing my experiences and finding out about yours. I also love talking food because I love to cook. Talking family, yours and mine never escape the conversation. The interests and subject matters I get to talk about with people is vast and often deep. It’s what truly makes the day interesting.
The reason I started this bio out mentioning being blessed to work here is because of the people! The people I care for, and the people I work with. Dr. Russell and Dr. Bode have truly put together a great group of people which is directly the reason we provide such great dentistry.
I very much look forward to getting acquainted with those of you I’m yet to meet. It’s always my goal to keep you comfortable in what is for so many a very uncomfortable situation.
Hi I’m Walt and I approve this message!
My name is Alyssa and I am the Insurance and Financial Coordinator at Russell and Bode Family Dentistry. I have been in the dental field for almost 20 years now. I started out as an assistant almost 15 years ago with Dr. Bode and after a few years moved to the front desk. I enjoy working hard for our patients with their insurance companies to receive payments for the procedures they need.
In my off time I enjoy spending time with my husband, kids, grandkids, and closest friends. We love having everyone get together to hang out and catch up. We enjoy camping in the summer and the fall is all about the Seahawks! My husband and I have been married for 16 years and have 4 wonderful children and 3 beautiful grandchildren. This year we welcomed our new daughter-in-law into the family. Our family is growing and I couldn’t be happier and or feel more blessed.
My name is Allison and I’m a Treatment Coordinator at Russell and Bode Family Dentistry with a focus on administering the oral appliance therapy program. While both of those rolls are important and gratifying, I have the most fun as the office DJ! 😊 I’ve been in dentistry for 23 years and with Russell and Bode for the last three. It is so true what they say about time flying when you are having fun. We have a great time working together here and I hope it shows to our patients.
Outside of the office you can find me out running on the roads, local trails or the track! I am so grateful that I’ve been able to keep pursuing my passion despite the limitations that COVID has placed on our daily lives. While I haven’t been able to sign up for most of my favorite races this season, I’m excited (and a little nervous) to say that I’ve just committed to my first ultramarathon- a 50K that takes place in October. Wish me luck!
I have worked at Russell and Bode Family Dentistry for over 2 years now and have loved every second! I am so thankful to work amongst some of the most talented providers in this field. I graduated from high school and went straight into the dental field. I have worked front desk, as a dental assistant in both a general dental office and as an orthodontic assistant. I graduated from Pima Medical Institute in 2014 as a dental hygienist. Since then I have furthered my education and am currently working toward becoming a certified Myofunctional Therapist and Buteyko Breathing Educator. I currently see patients for their cleanings as a dental hygienist and work as a myofunctional therapist at our office. When not at work I enjoy traveling with my husband and relaxing at our small little farm with our animals!
My name is Shannon and I have worked at our office since 2018 as a hygienist. I grew up in the Vancouver area and graduated from Clark College with my degree in Dental Hygiene in 2007. I am so grateful to be a part of such an amazing team of dedicated, caring, healthcare professionals.
During a visit with me in my operatory, we will discuss any concerns you may have related to your dental care, go over any health concerns or changes since your last visit, and check your vitals such as blood pressure and temperature. I will assess your gum health and bone support with periodontal measurements (perio charting/gum health check), take any necessary x-rays, check your mouth for sores and lesions, as well as remove the build-up of tartar, plaque and stain. In addition, I will act as a “second set of eyes” for Dr. Bode and Dr. Russell, carefully checking around every tooth for potential areas of decay or other issues. I will also act as a partner in your oral health, working to advise you on how to achieve your oral health goals. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to my patient’s dental care or the products and tools best suited to their needs.
When not working, I spend my free time with my elementary age daughter and our pets. We have lived in Olympia for 5 years and enjoy exploring all the area has to offer for entertainment and outdoor activities.
My name is Judy and I have been working in the dental field since 1980, having begun with Dr. Steven Russell, Senior, working with him for approximately 28 years. After his son Steve took over the practice, I stayed on and have been working as a dental assistant in the practice now for over 40 years. Subsequently, in 2009 I obtained my certification as an expanded function dental assistant. I have been married to my husband, John Ryan, since 2018. My family consists of three daughters, all of them are married, and six grandchildren and two stepchildren. Apart from work. I enjoy reading, fitness, travel and gardening.
I have been part of Russell & Bode Family Practice from the beginning and worked with Dr. Russell prior to that. I have been in the dental field for 25+ years.
I was born and raised in Lewiston, Idaho and moved to Olympia in 1981. I am married and have 2 grown boys and 4 grandchildren (soon to be 5). I am a bit of a homebody and love being with my family. I enjoy gardening, walking, biking, golf, baking, playing cribbage, and traveling; I dislike being cold so snow skiing has become less enjoyable for me; however, growing up in Idaho it was my love and I always thought I would be a professional skier Ha Ha!
My name is Tracey and I am one of the hygienists at Russell and Bode. I have been with our office for more than year now. I have been practicing dentistry for the past 9 years, graduating from Eastern Washington University with my B.S. in Dental Hygiene in 2011. I continued on to receive my M.S. in Health Education in 2013 to further my passion and commitment to overall health. This passion and commitment lead me to become involved in the Seattle King County Clinic, where I am part of the dental leadership team to provide care for the community. I enjoy building rapport and relationships with our patients to provide oral health care in a friendly, inviting and safe environment. The best part of my job is bringing a smile and confidence to someone’s life, even if for one day. This is the very reason I became a Hygienist, to create a better overall health for patients by treating the main entry way to the body and creating a healthy, positive outward appearance. I am excited to continue to work with all of our patients to provide specifically designed care to achieve and maintain ultimate oral health care. Next time you need your teeth cleaned, maybe you will meet me.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. Being from Olympia, I have several family members in the area and enjoy attending all events from my nieces’ sporting competitions to celebrating birthdays and graduations. I also enjoy taking my dog, Tucker, for walks and taking in the breath-taking scenery the Northwest has to offer. I am looking forward to meeting you and creating a long-lasting relationship by providing a relaxed and inviting environment for the dental care. Let me give you the gift of confidence and a smile.
My name is Pam and have worked as a dental hygienist at Russell and Bode Family Dentistry for about 12 years now. I have worked along side my husband (successfully!) for all of it. I have been a hygienist now for 18 years in total. Time flies! My faith and my family are what drive me and I have been blessed with 3 amazing girls, a grand daughter and grand son. We love spending time together and I am one of the lucky ones that have teenagers who still like to hang out with their parents!
I feel fortunate to be part of this practice working along side such a great dental team.

In my free time I enjoy camping, golfing and just spending time with my husband, family and dog.
My name is Sarah and I have been in dentistry for the past 20 years. I started out in dental assisting where I realized my desire to help patients and my love for dentistry. I joined Russell and Bode in 2013 and quickly realized this is my dental home. I am dedicated to helping improve her patient’s oral and overall health. In the last few years, I discovered a new passion for myofunctional therapy and have been helping patients learn to chew, swallow and breath properly.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have boys that keep me busy. I enjoy camping, hiking, playing sports and anything active. I am also an active member on my local school board where I have served for the last 5 years.

Hannah has been a dental assistant for 15 years. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry but her favorite thing about it is taking care of her patients! Coming to work everyday, it doesn’t feel like work, it’s not something I feel I have to do but rather something I get to do!
Outside of the office Hannah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, eating and the outdoors. She has two amazing sons and a BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS SMART Silver Lab Harper Mae.
